Start our adventure on the "Mountains of the Moon", the sources of the Nile.
Departure from the city of Kasese with two jeeps, we arrive after almost two hours in the village of Omukorukumi where we get to know the guides, we deliver the luggage to the porters and after the usual photos we set off. Four armed rangers escort us.
The trek begins with a steep climb that immediately puts us to the test. It is also very hot despite the altitude. We are not yet in the park and on the way we pass through cultivated areas and meet working people, women and children and the last houses. In the following days we will be just us and nature.
After about two hours we arrive at the first tented camp: Amundsen Camp at about 2,100 meters above sea level.
