Itinerary description
Parking is available on McCowan Rd (and off Ravenshoe). A nice stand of trees, mixed hardwoods and some pines and cedars. Trails are very well marked, colour coded to match the map and given names (that I heard other users refer to). Trails are multi-use, we saw hikers, mountain bikers and some signs of horse/equestrian usage. Signage indicated cross country ski trails in winter months. A lot of windy paths with twists and minor changes in elevation.
Trails were dirt and sand with strategic bridges and board walks in low lying areas. Encountered several friendly users on the narrow trails and while there were some trail obstructions the paths are generally clear or adapted to the blockage. A picture of the map at the trail head is recommended or my pictures. Numerous versions of the trail are possible, enjoy as much as you like!
