Itinerary description
Straightforward walking to the highest point in Shropshire, taking in broadleaf and conifer woodland on the lower slopes and open moor on top. Several paths criss-cross the hill so there is much scope to lengthen or shorten the route (beware, some paths can be boggy after rainfall). The highest point of Brown Clee is the summit of Abdon Burf. The neighbouring and slightly lower summit is called Clee Burf. Both now have radio stations on the top and both have ruined remnants from stone quarrying on their upper slopes. Look out for the wild ponies that regularly graze the summit area. Long range views to the Brecon Beacons, Snowdonia, the West Midlands and Staffordshire can be had on a clear day
