Itinerary description
The hike following Brindle Creek to Evans and Selva Falls and is probably the most iconic track of the Border Ranges area. What makes it significant is the prolific Anarctic beach trees. This loop takes in the Antarctic Beach picnic area where there is a lookout across the ranges and returns via the main driving route to the start point.
The Border Rangers is essentially Southern Lamington. Being in a different state New South Wales calls it the area Border Ranges while in Queensland it is Lamington. It really is one area.
The Brindle Creek car park can be accessed by turning left just after the top Forest campground in the Border Ranges National Park. The dirt road in is good and there are toilets available about 50 metres up the road from the car park.
Most of the track is quite moderate with only minor Hills but afte rreaching Selwa Falls the track progresses uphill quite steeply to Antarctic Beach picnic area.
I write the quality of the rainforest at a level above Lamington. The area benefits from greater rainfall than the Lamington area. The campgrounds are excellent but the road is subject to treefall often.
Definitely one of my favourite tracks.
