Itinerary description
A long and tiring climb up from the Colorado river to the south rim of the grand canyon. Apart from the short river walk, there is nothing remarkable about the lower part of the trail. From around the 3-mile point and above, the view opens up and the walk is steeper but beautiful. The upper section of the trail was covered with ice and required crampons or hiking poles.
It took me about 6.5hours with stops and a backpack.
