Briedel: Moselsteig Side Trail Briedeler Schweiz
Summarised: Many panoramic spots, huts and a very beautiful forest walk through Briedeler Switzerland!!!
Lots of parking in Briedel:
50,02355° N, 7,15024° O
(you can also choose to use the parking at the, almost, highest point of the trail: Sundhaus (a chapel): 50,00934° N, 7,15590° O)
Trail marked with green stripes on a white background (moselsteig-logo but green instead of brown because this is a sidetrail of the 365km long Moselsteig)
Start by climbing out of Briedel and soon you find yourself climbing on forest roads through Briedeln Switzerland, passing by Kaiserlay, a nice shelter and picnic-area before reaching Sundhaus, a chapel and picnic area and a bit further down the trail Wilhelmshohe: two huts and above all a great panoramic spot.
Continue towards another hut (Schutzhutte) and here you start to go down on a path through a very beautiful forest filled with moss-covered trees.
You’ ll stumble upon an intersection where you can walk 300 meters to Beinter Kopf, another panoramic spot with hut and picnic tables. Great panorama over the Mosel!!!
From Beinter Kopf you have to walk back the same way you came until you find yourself back again at the intersection and now you follow the path at your righthandside.
This very nice path takes you back to Briedel past Hindenburglay, another hut and panorama spot!
