Itinerary description
This hiking trail goes from the Plan Maison cable car station, around the lake Goillet, and then back down to the town of Breuil. The lake is part of the so called "Giro d'energia" (eng. Energy tour), a tour of energy/power stations in the area of Aosta valley (lakes, hydro power plants, etc.)
To get to Plan Maison, you can either hike uphill from Breuil, or you can take the cable car (€9.50 per person, one way ticket, return ticket is more expensive). We took the cable. There is a free parking lot there (that's our end point).
Once on Plan Maison, just follow the offocial markings and the route should be fairly visible outright. Beware that there is no shade along the trail, but the technical difficulty is easy and there is only a few uphill portions before the trail starts properly descending.
You can make slight alterations to the hike along the way by making a few detours or take alternative paths.
