Itinerary description
It is an easy trail though the Bras d'Eau National Park. It is a well laid, clear and mostly shaded route with minimum elevation gain. The Coq de Bois loop is an extension of the Coq de Bois trail in the same park.
It should be noted that this trail does not have any view from the top. It is just a walk in the woods. Probably can be muddy after rain in some places but was completely fine for me.
Next to the visitor center, you will find the ruins of an old sugar mill which shut down in 1867. Also there is Eole Plaine des Roches wind farm not far from the trail at -20.134793, 57.727869.
Parking. There is a proper parking area next to the visitor center at -20.145397, 57.726856. Any car can get there.
Must-have gear:
1) Hiking shoes, but sneakers are ok
2) about one liter of water depending on the season
3) mosquito repellent

Boucle faisable avec enfants (4 & 6 ans pour notre part) en 2h environ.
Prévoir bonnes chaussures car rando sur pierres volcaniques et répulsif moustiques
