Itinerary description
Mother Teresa Day 2011 was too good not to go for a hike, and Brar Summit was our choice. Much of the hike is exposed to the west, and the cooler temperature in October was right for a summit attempt. There are two summits of Brar, and the southern summit is clearly higher. However, this summit is a little elusive, and our GPS coordinates differed somewhat from Google Earth. We concluded that the south end of the summit ridge of the southern summit is the highest point (with excellent views towards Dajti Mountain and even to Tomorri). Google Earth seems to locate the highest point a little further north but this is probably due to the higher trees. It is relatively easy to complete a loop, descending via the north end of the summit ridge, which has much less vegatation than our ascent.
Overall, we rate this hike as easy, if it wasn't for the very difficult trail finding - in fact bushwhacking - near the summit. So we gave it a moderate
