On the outskirts of Sofia, in Vitosha, you can do a lot of hiking trails. This route starts from the famous Boyana church, which is a must-see, and goes up through the forest along the Boyana River until it reaches a series of waterfalls.
You can access the start of the route by urban bus.
We return along a path that takes us to a small lake.
The route is well signposted up to the waterfall with red and white markings, and from the waterfall you have to take the marked trail with blue and white markings that leads back to Boyana.

Did this route with my 8 and 6 year olds. Accessible course which climbs on the first part but not very difficult. Easy to get to and well signposted all the way. Few people. Freshness guaranteed in August.

Preciosa ruta pero extenuante la subida y terrible la bajada para las rodillas. Muy difícil la subida no retornar por el mismo sitio
