Itinerary description
The ancient castle of Bouillon is worth visiting with its extensive tour and exhibition.
Moreover, it is beautifully situated, perched on the rocks as it is, having the Semois on either side of it.
The Belvedere circular route is an exceptionally nice one. The track starts from the old Cordemois bridge and will take you up to the Belvedere with its 300 steps, zigzagging its way up along a very nice track, sometimes steep though, giving you wonderful glimpses of the city and the river.
The noise of the city is never far away though, until you descend on the other side of the Belvedere and walk through a beautiful scenery in wonderful silence and also along a narrow ridge with two viewpoints.
The first viewpoint gives a spectacular view of the Abbey of Cordemois and the second of the hills surrounding the Semois.
After a very nice descent you will get to the road to the Abbey at the mill of L'Epine and from there follow the Semois back to Bouillon passing the beautifully situated Abbey and, after the last bend once again enjoy a majestic view of the castle.
