Itinerary description
This is an amazingly beautiful walk. Vast ocean views and rock formations, and lovely bushland. Track in good condition and easy to follow, though some sign arrows a bit confusing. Lots of ups and downs. The campground is small (6 sites, need to book in advance), with clean toilets and right on the beach. No tank water, but fresh water creek running alongside the campground (I'd filter it first). I spoke with a Ranger and he said it gets very crowded and noisy in summer and on weekends. We were lucky as we had the place all to ourselves... intermittent rain showers and colder temps a small price to pay. The parking at Putty Beach is ticketed, and only day passes are available (unless you have an annual pass), with signs prohibiting overnight parking. When I spoke to the Ranger about leaving my car there, he suggested buying a day pass and leaving a note on the dash explaining I'd walked in to Little Beach for overnight camp. Must have worked because I didn't get any fines.
