Itinerary description
An ideal trek for those who want to try long hikes, test themselves, equipment and enjoy the wonderful nature of Borjomi.
⚠️
I was guided by the trail indicated in Mapy.cz, but there, and on other services pulling up data from Open Street Maps, apparently, a very old and not very logical route is published. In the attached screenshots, I marked a couple of critical places that will make it better (for some reason, the captions to the pictures are only visible in the browser).
The rest of the trek can be easily passed. The trail was updated and expanded in 2022 - now it is visible and understandable almost everywhere. Markings are still chaotic and multi-colored - you should not focus on them.
🚰
There are some problems with water sources in the first half of the journey. There is a good and reliable spring only at the very start near Atskuri. At the Amarati refuge and along the way, the springs often dry up. Amarati has several drinking bowls for cows, from where you will have to take water - it`s better to at least filter it.
In the interval from Amarati (1 night) to Sakhvlari (3 nights), stable water sources appear only on the descent in the forest zone. Stock up on water after your first night at the Amarati hideout!
🥾
After the rains, the second half of the journey (day 3-4) will be on a dirt road. No, really, there will be a LOT of DIRT - be prepared for that.

Pretty cool trail with amazing views. You will cross a different landscapes and panoramas such as coniferous, oaks, birch, areas
In autumn time you will see amazing panoramas of different colored forests and valleys, also bald mountains with rocks, rainforest and more. It's absolutely mind-blowing experience
