Itinerary description

Interesting area with lots of major trails criss-crossing through it. There is parking at the point where I started, the trail begins 50 meters to the south. I followed the trail to Valley Rd and hiked along the road for a stretch. You will see several streams (mostly dried up in August) some mature forest sections and a ravine or portion of the Niagara escarpment. Lots of small wildlife and a noisy murder of crows kept the northern loop animated.

In the southern section, after passing by a field I doubled back to avoid another section of roadway. The topography of the tract makes a good circular route difficult. I left the trail around kilometer 3.9 and headed down a steep embankment, basically bushwhacking my way towards the trail to the east, picking it up some 300 to 400 meters later. The path I took is not for beginners and mapping coordinates are recommended if you really want to take this route. Lots of lose footing and steep sections, spring run off would make the path even more difficult. There are numerous trail options in the area (including the Niagara - Bruce Trail) or return the path you came. There are plenty of options to extend or shorten your hike.

Signage was present, but no trail maps were posted, if anyone knows of a good trail map for this area please post it below.
Thanks.
