Difficulty level: E
Ring itinerary that takes place in the Periyar nature reserve, on the border between the states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
The route does not present any technical difficulty, it is quite long but does not cover significant gradients. The final part of the climb takes place on a grassy ridge exposed to the sun, but being short it doesn't create any problems. You will often walk off the path into the forest in order to observe the wildlife.
During the journey it is very frequent to spot local fauna and with a little luck you can also meet some specimens of elephant.
Due to the massive presence of animals, including the tiger, access to the park is allowed only and exclusively accompanied by the rangers, therefore it is absolutely not possible to carry out the excursion independently.
Beautiful experience because during the journey in the forest you really have the feeling of being a guest in nature.
