Itinerary description
Relatively easy hike depending what route you choose. I did a circuit that goes east and it was intended to follow a trail going back to the summit west. However, after reaching the ridge on the most eastern side, I could only follow a very faint trail that went west.
Eventually, it disappeared (sometimes you can see very old markings on rocks) and was difficult to find a way through the pine forest and some thorny bushes. I mainly stayed on an ancient, deteriorated wall as it provided a clearer path. Also, you will see that at about km 5.8, there was a trail that I decided not to follow as I was not sure where it lead to (perhaps this would have been a better choice). Either way, I painfully made it up to an open area (~km 7.3) and tried to find the ridge. I did and had also found the trail. It basically follows the military fence until it joins the standard trail tourists take. This section was annoying but still had fun.
Once at the fence, you get to walk on the ridge and get different views of Hvar Island and the Adriatic Sea. I recommend doing this circuit (in this order) if you find a better trail to the ridge as you get better views. I found going down the normal trail was not interesting and it's steeper. Good leisurely hike!

Route omhoog en omlaag prima te volgen, ook volgens aangebrachte markeringspunten. Het gedeelte bovenlangs liep dwars door bosgebied. Vrijwel geen pad te bekennen. Compleet oerwoud. Niet leuk en zeker niet mooi. Betrof bovendien langste gedeelte van de route. Geen aanrader.
Hey Jan, you are correct on the forresty and no path part. Did you not read my description? I recommend to read them before following trails. I didn't recommend going that way. Glad you made it out OK!
