Itinerary description

The second part of our walk on 12 October 2010 in the area of the Blessington lake took us to the area near Lackan. We first visited the cottage which was used during the making of the film Captain Boycott in 1947 featuring Stewart Granger and Noel Purcell, and from there to the “house in Pound lane”. Then we returned the graveyard and the lakeshore to Lackan to visit the local church and have a drink in the Pub. This was a nice short walk with a lot of historical interest.

Para la Segunda parte de nuestra ruta del 12 de septiembre 2010 en los lago de Blessington fuimos a la zona de Lackan. Primero fuimos a la casita usada para rodar la pelicula El Capitan Boycott en 1947 con Stewart Granger, y desde ahí a la ruína de una casa del siglo 17 en “Pound lane”, que curiosamente se traduce como “el caminito del depósito franco” por razones deconocidas. A la vuelta pasamos por un cementario y por la orilla del lago al pueblo de Lackan donde visitamos la iglesia y finalmente el Pub del pueblo. Un camino corto pero muy interesante por razones historicas.
