Itinerary description

This trail is relatively easy with one small steep climb, after that it is on a gentle bench trail to the Blackpool waterfall. There is a deep pool which is OK for swimming. As it's name suggests "black" describes the organic debris and mud at the bottom which may get stirred up. This is a good starter hike along a lovely bench trail which is well used. There are only a few fallen trees across the trail. The initial assent and descent to the parking area is quite steep and can be muddy and slippery when wet.
