Itinerary description
With a beautiful start at Big Meadows and a 3.6 mile hike out to Dardanelles Lake, the start of this hike is a gradual but sustained climb for the first two miles. (Approx 800' gain)
This is not strenuous as you gradually walk to the lake. After enjoying the fall colors and the lake, continue back the way you came to the Scott's Lake Trail at mile 6.6 on the way back from Dardanelles.
The Scott's Lake Trail travels to the South-Southwest and you will then start another gradual climb from the fork in the trail to Scott's lake for about 2.5 miles.
Waterhouse Peak will be looking over you from the North at 9,433'.
After enjoying the lake you will hike primarily downhill back to the Big Meadows Trailhead.
This is not strenuous as you gradually walk to the lake. After enjoying the fall colors and the lake, continue back the way you came to the Scott's Lake Trail at mile 6.6 on the way back from Dardanelles.
