This is a 28 km long trail that starts from Bhivpuri Road Railway Station and climbs onto Matheran via Garbett Point (passing thorugh Diksal village, Bhivpuri lake, Sagachiwadi & Garbett plateau). The trail then joins Neral-Matheran narrow gauge railway line at Aman Lodge Station and leads to Matehran Railway station after three km.
Further, the trail crosses Matheran market and reaches Hashyachi Patti by steps from a hut near Malang Point and goes down to umbernewadi (villagers call it warose) and crosses the stream to reach arkaswadi and then takes the flat road below Irshalgad plateau to reach Nanivali village and ends at Chowk Railway station on the Panvel - Karjat goods train line.

Endurance: Very High (If attempted in one day)/ Medium (If staying overnight in Matheran)
Difficulty: Medium
Risk Factor: Medium

Keep Trekking!

A wonderful scenic trail. I did it during early and mid monsoon. the trail from ambernewadi to matheran is not very know even to villager so do you home work before going there. It should be avoided at the time of heavy rains. All stream and river on the way become very intense and risky to cross.
