Itinerary description
i tried different natural trails this time on the basis of my mature track shaped angel fish, recorded on oct 16, 2020.
first of all, chenjiagou village is so beautiful surrounded by maples. so you may go down the hill on the way to nanmachang reservoir, and then take heichen road to the reservoir.
secondly, the trails upright from the left handside of the reservoir are very nice, with much better views than the one from the end of the plank road on the right handside.
thirdly, the trails up the hill near to beimachang are more comfortable and interesting than the firebreaks. it's worth trying and then you can go back to the entrance heading for the cross ridge, shizi ling in mandarin.
regards to the fourth one i tried, i don't recommend it actually. it's a valley full of big and bumpy stones, while there's no apparent trail. so it's a bit risky and boring, compared with the one up the hill to keleyu, with gorgeous sceneries and views, and red maple forests. of course, if you'd like to challenges, it's a choice.
route:
fragrant hills subway station- happy forest - white tower hills - chenjiagou village - nanmachang reservior- beimachang- cross ridge - east big slope - keleyu hilltop - one basin of water trails - botanical garden - fragrant hills subway station
