Itinerary description

This is a nice loop which climbs up to the top of the Peñon de Benadalid. I have another version of this walk which starts in Benadalid, but this time I decided to start in Benalauría, which worked well.

Park just off the main Ronda road by the turning down to Benalauría. The first section to Benadalid, and then on to the ruined Venta San Isadoro follows the well-marked GR141. At the ruined Venta San Isadora you cross the road and follow the track opposite, which climbs gradually on forest tracks to reach the summit where your efforts are rewarded with great views. Finally you descend on a rocky path (easy to navigate but a tricky descent in parts - take your time) to the Puerto de Benalauría (GR249) and then downhill on a concrete track to rejoin your car.
