Itinerary description
Belle Cove is an old trail that got washed out in 1995 and was never repaired. We parked on 501 where a Belle Cove Branch passes under. There is parking at the the beginning of the trail at 37.6798402, -79.4066960. I started the gps late so it's missing the first part. By "trail" I mean bits of trail connected by following the branch. We crossed the creek a dozen times so wet feet are likely and it's very slow going. The branch goes up nearly to the top of the mountain to Saltlog Gap on the Appalachian Trail. From there you can go several ways. We chose to go straight over and down into the quarry. My phone died and I didn't get the end of the quarry section but you can see it on another map of mine. In total we went roughly 7 miles in 7 hours.
