Itinerary description
A hike in the Solières valley along the 'Rue de la Poudrerie' is one of the most popular (and easy) hikes in the surrounding of Hoei (Huy) and Ben-Ahin.
The trail described here is a bit more adventurous and 'heavy' then the common trail and takes you around the valley. You get a nice view over the Maas valley and the Solières valley. Some parts of the trail are a bit steep and not always very clear (i.e. in Bois de Mélart-Mavelin).
Its recommended to take waterproof shoes as the trail can be quite muddy.
All in all a perfect trail for a nice day hike with a very divers scenery. Suited for all seasons.

Itinéraire passant par une propriété privée...
Heb deze wandeling gedaan op 23/08/2020. Helaas is in het begin van de wandeling bovanaan het uitzichtpunt, niet meer meer mogelijk om verder te wandelen. Je moet op uw stappen terug keren en het officiele wandelpad verder volgen. De eigenaar heeft de toegang tot het bos volledig afgezet met prikkeldraad en boomstammen. Geen doorgang meer mogelijk. Op de andere wegen in het bos hebben we de verbodsborden genegeerd van verboden toegang voor wandelaars. Deze zijn daar geplaatst door jagers die daar het gebied beheren. Hebben niet graag dat je het wild verjaagd. Het zijn ook geen officele borden. De reden is waarom er zoveel verbodsborden staan is dat de eigen bevolking nog heel veel sluikstort. Op een gegeven moment kwamen we op een mooi plekje (foto 5) en daar lagen zeker 7 grote vuilzakken met nieuw speelgoed gedumpt. De eigen bevolking neemt wel de mooite om op deze moeilijk bereikbare plaatsen te geraken om hun rommel te dumpen. Wij wandelaars hebben meer respect voor de natuur en de meeste nemen hun restjes afval terug mee. Heb heel weinig afval gezein van wandelaars. De eigen bevolking zou best eerst naar hun eigen kijken, vooraleer dat ze de wandelwegen op eigen houtje gaan afsluiten of verbieden voor wandelaars. Wij als wandelaar willen gewoon kunnen genieten van mooie stukjes natuur en de lokale horeca iets laten bijverdienen na een wandeling.

Comme dans le commentaire de @TheHappyWalker, le passage est maintenant barré, clôturé et plus ou moins sévèrement barricadé à plusieurs endroits. Cette trace devrait disparaitre du site car on ne peut plus la suivre telle qu'ellle.
Ce jour, j'ai constaté des clôtures ou barrières à 6 endroits différents. Au fur et à mesure il est possible de les contourner mais çà rend la trace tout à fait inutile. Dans le détail: j'ai du changer de route aux Km: 0.8 - 2.7 - 3.2 - 4.5 - 6.1 et finalement 11.4
