Itinerary description
Not much of a winter this year, except for a gorgeous albeit short-lived winter spell mid-January. I took my youngest daughter on a 17 km hike across the High Fens, blanketed with some 20 cm of snow on top of soaking wet soil. Needless to say that hiking was rather difficult in places, especially on the notorious trail along the Helle creek. The day started out gray and windy, but eventually turned sunny and crisp.
