Itinerary description
After exploring Nahr el Joz area from Kaftoun to Kfarhelda waterfalls in the last hike, i decided to explore the upper part of the river this time from Beit Chlela to Tannourine el Tahta. The valley trail is practically the same: same amazing sceneries, old mills, waterfalls, stone and wooden bridges. The loop is relatively short so you can enjoy the beauty of the place while still being good on time before winter sunset. We started from Beit Chlela, following a well-maintained trail. The trail is not busy at this time of the year, perfect for people looking for a peaceful walk. The trail is not physically demanding except at 2 parts where you will have tough ascents: just before arriving to Tannourine el Tahta (long stairs), and then from Tannourine to Kfour el Arbi. These 2 ascents are particularly nice offering beautiful sceneries. Douma village is amazingly seen while going up from Tannourine and a climbing site is on your way. The way back is on dirt and asphalt roads. We had our lunch at Nirvana campsite (actually closed). Enjoy this pleasant and keep it clean!

Dear Rami, i have been following you for long and would like to talk to you about an app that we (European Union) are financing on ecotourism. There will be a function for hikes and would like to know if you would be interested to contribute. If so could you send me a friend request via Facebook ? I will share my WhatsApp there. Best regards, Olivier
We did this trail at the end of January and it was absolutely gorgeous. Following rami’s map was very easy. The hike itself is beautiful, with different types of sceneries every few kilometers. Its quite a moderate to easy hike, and does not take much time, which is perfect if you don’t want to spend your entire day hiking. It is also quite dog friendly, but be careful of farmer and herd dogs, we came across a few.
Thank you Lynne for following and commenting on my trail. Im happy you liked it! Keep hiking :)

Loved every single part of this trail 🤩 thank you Rami for always taking us to beautiful places and amazing trails ❤️
Thank you. We were on the trail today. Amazing views. The route is great, but I don't recommend it during rain. Steep climb on hardened ground. An unforgettable experience and the most beautiful trail we have been on in Lebanon.
Thank you, Pawel! Im glad you liked it! Keep hiking :)
