Itinerary description
Started on Saturday from Bridge of Orchy from the Car park following the West Highland Way South direction. When we reach the bridge, turn left after it and keep on towards the Glean Achadh-innis Chailein and passing under the Railway Bridge. The track goes along the Glen passing on some fords on the way, which with the deicing they were a little bit high. But the weather was good so there was no need to bother much about getting wet. We follow the track all the way and taking the path on Glen Lyon direction. After the fence and between the two tops we start going straight up. 550m of ascent that we do in about 1h15m. We reach Beinn Mhanach and we look for a good place to camp. We start going down following the sheep fence, that allows us to take the least steep way down. It everything too wet at the Coll Lòn na Cailliche so we start climbing up towards Meall Buidhe, on the way up we find a good spot with the river beside and we set the tent.
Next day we keep the ascent to Meall Buidhe and we follow the ridge that drives us to Beinn a'Chreachain. There is snow on the ridge that we try to avoid because is too wet and slidy. We leave the rucksacks on the last climb and we do the second Munro of the route. We go back on the same path. The path to climb Beinn Achaladair is full of snow and too dangerous to follow. We avoid the snow doing some scrambling strait up. With a low level group I would have taken the shoulder of the south face of the hill, which was less steep. From there we follow the ridge towards Beinn an Dothaidh. There is snow from the coll to the first Cairn of Beinn an Dothaidh but is easy enough to step up and reach the top. We try to avoid the snow again and we round on the ridge before facing down. The path up to Beinn Dorain has quite a lot of snow and we try to take an alternative route on the left hand side of the main path. We reach the top taking care not to step too much onto the left of the ridge because there are some cornices formed. We undo the path and we follow the main path down to Bridge of Orchy. It's hard with the loose stones but pretty strait forward.
