Itinerary description

Started at the Hibernian Hotel in Beechworth. Plenty of all day parking and public toilets around the corner behind the visitor information centre.

An interesting walk visiting some of the historic sites around the park.

Visited One Tree Hill, Ingrams Rock, Fiddes Quarry, The Precipice and the Spring Creek Cascades.

After picnic lunch at the bottom of the gorge the return to Beechworth was along access tracks, rural farm lanes, past vineyards and along the rail trail.

Last stop a well deserved bevy at the Empire Hotel. Open fire and a lamb korma curry...perfect ending to a fabulous day out.

This walk is for those sturdy enough to tackle the hills and rocky terrain. Walking poles highly recommended.

Bring water, food, first aid kit and layerings for sudden changes in the weather.

Ingrams Rock

James Ingram established a newsagency and supplied papers and stationary to diggers on the goldfields in the 1860s. James also helped to establish the Beechworth Hospital and Primary School. He died in 1928 within six weeks of his 100th birthday and lived nearby the rock that now bears his name.
