Itinerary description
This is a great way to explore the beaches on the western shore of Cala di Volpe. Our favorite beach is the first one on this hike (Spiaggia di Pablo) -- we spent the rest of the day there after finishing the hike. But also the last beach on this hike (Cala Petra Ruja) is lovely with its fine, white sand and great swimming -- a great place for a picknick and a longer break before heading back. Along the way lots of views over the bay.
How to get there:
From Strada Provinciale 94 take SP 160 in direction of Cala di Volpe. After 140 m take a right and follow the gravel road in direction of Spaggia Liscia Ruja (sign). After one km you reach the parking for Spiaggia Li Itriceddi. Park your car there. The parking was free of charge at the end of September, when we were there. During high season it costs the usual 2,50 € per hour (so it says on the sign).
Hiking time:
- 1h45 one way from the parking to Cala Petra Ruja (including the excursion to the small peninsula before Cala Petra Ruja -- you don't miss much if you skip this excursion)
- 50 min way back from Cala Petra Ruja to Spiaggia di Pablo
Sturdy shoes and and sure-footedness required!
