Itinerary description
This is a lovely hike in a beautiful alpine landscape, taking in two of the peaks in Baw Baw National Park.
There are some ups and downs, but manageable for someone of reasonable fitness. You can take poles to make it easier.
The hike can be shortened by skipping the loop on my map which is furtherest away from Mt Baw Baw resort and instead travelling from my 'panorama' flag to 'Mt St Gwinnear' flag and not going to the 'Mt St Gwinnear carpark' flag. That will cut about 2kms off the hike, and also cut out the longest single descent and ascent. worth keeping in mind if you'd like something less challenging or are facing inclement weather.
There are beautiful wildflowers in summer. Take time to enjoy them!
