Itinerary description
Nice round trip starting from above Barrea to Lago Vivo and back. Very well marked trail that leads you through meadows with flowers, shadowy woods and steep canyons. The lake dries out during the summer, but it’s still a nice place to rest. The last part after the “lake” is very steep and you have to climb down some stretches. Overall it took us 4.5 hours (incl. a 45 min break). Many parts of the trail are in the woods so it is a good option for a hike during the hot summer months.
