Itinerary description

Turn off Howards Rd, left onto a fire access track between houses No. 9 and No. 11 Howards Rd.

Park off roadway, walk through the gate and turn left to start this walk.

A mix of fire trails, including some rather steep ones, and wait for it, even steeper descending along a ridge track back to the starting trail awaits you.

Cannot deny, the vistas are awesome and worth the grunt and groan.

No services at all. Take all food, water, clothing layers and first aid kit.

Sturdy hiking shoes or boots are needed, hiking poles highly recommended (especially the descent on the track).

As said the descent is on a narrow, steep and very rocky track. In places it splits but seems to come back together.

I thoroughly enjoyed this walk, it was more challenging than I was expecting but I did enjoy the challenge and diversity of the terrain.

Ok so trust me. You get off the fire road now. Opposite this sign is a sign that says Ridge Lane. To left of RL sign there’s a little foot track. Head up the hill on it. This is the Ridge Tk which will lead you back to Gate 1
