Starting point is the Hosteria & Spa Isla de Baños. First turn left into "Calle Montalvo". In "Calle Oscar Efren Reyes" turn right and cross the bridge San Francisco over the river Pastaza. From there, follow the road uphill and after about 600 m, at the "Illuchi Bajo/Las Antenas/Patate" junction, take the slightly sloping road on the right. The road now winds along the slope for a few kilometers. Again and again there are beautiful panoramic views over Baños, the Pastaza Valley and the volcano Tungurahua. At a somewhat inconspicuous turn-off to the right, one crosses the creek of the "Quebrada Guambo"; two planks, form a narrow bridge. On the other side, a narrow path continues along the slope. After a few hundred meters you reach a fork in the road and follow it to the right. Follow the main path - the following junctions to the right remain unnoticed - until you reach a fork at the bench "La Banca del Amor", where you take the right way down. From here the path goes steeply down to a suspension bridge. On the other side, we climb up to the San Vicente district and take the "Via a Sauces" road until we reach the main road that takes us back to Baños.

DESCRIPCIÓN DEL TOUR

El punto de partida es la Hostería y Spa Isla de Baños. Primero gire a la izquierda en la Calle Montalvo. En la Calle Oscar Efrén Reyes se gira a la derecha y se cruza el puente San Francisco sobre el río Pastaza. Desde allí, siga el camino cuesta arriba y después de unos 600 m, en el cruce de "Illuchi Bajo/Las Antenas/Patate", tome el camino ligeramente inclinado de la derecha. El camino ahora serpentea a lo largo de la ladera por unos pocos kilómetros. Una y otra vez hay hermosas vistas panorámicas sobre Baños, el valle del Pastaza y el volcán Tungurahua. En un desvío algo discreto a la derecha, se cruza el arroyo de la Quebrada Guambo; dos tablones, forman un estrecho puente. En el otro lado, un estrecho sendero lleva más lejos a lo largo de la ladera. Después de unos pocos cientos de metros se llega a una bifurcación y se sigue a la derecha. Siempre siguiendo el sendero principal - las siguientes bifurcaciones a la derecha pasan desapercibidas - hasta una bifurcación en el banco "La Banca del Amor", allí tomar el camino de la derecha hacia abajo. Desde aquí el camino desciende abruptamente hasta un puente colgante. Por otro lado, subimos al barrio de San Vicente y tomamos "Vía a Sauces" hasta llegar a la carretera principal que nos lleva de vuelta a Baños.

TOURENBESCHREIBUNG

Ausgangspunkt ist die Hosteria & Spa Isla de Baños. Zuerst geht es nach links in die "Calle Montalvo". In der "Calle Oscar Efren Reyes" biegt man nach rechts und überquert die Brücke San Francisco über den Fluss Pastaza. Von dort folgt man der Straße hinauf und nimmt nach ca. 600 m an der Abzweigung "Illuchi Bajo/Las Antenas/Patate" die leicht abfallende Straße auf der rechten Seite. Die Straße schlängelt sich nun ein paar Kilometer am Hang entlang. Immer wieder gibt es schöne Panorama-Blicke über Baños, das Pastaza-Tal und den Vulkan Tungurahua. An einer etwas unscheinbaren Abzweigung nach rechts überquert man den Bach der "Quebrada Guambo"; zwei Bretter, bilden eine schmale Brücke. Auf der anderen Seite führt dann ein schmaler Pfad weiter den Hang entlang. Nach ein paar Hundert Metern erreicht man eine Weggabelung und folgt nach rechts. Immer dem Hauptweg folgend - die nachfolgenden Abzweigungen nach rechts bleiben unbeachtet - bis an eine Gabelung bei der Sitzbank "La Banca del Amor", dort den rechten Weg nach unten einschlagen. Von hier geht es steil hinunter bis zu einer Hängebrücke. Auf der anderen Seite steigen wir zum Ortsteil San Vicente auf und nehmen die Straße "Via a Sauces" bis zur Hauptstraße, die uns wieder zurück nach Baños bringt.
