Itinerary description
Balie se gat is a campsite in the Koue Bokkeveld between Citrusdal and Ceres on the R303 in the Western Cape. High ground clearance 4x4 vehicles are recommended to reach Balie se gat. Before you proceed down with the Piet Esterhuizen Road, please check for oncoming traffic since it is impossible for vehicles to pass one another on this narrow pass. Balie se gat has some lovely accommodation, but I prefered to camp at Boesmansklip. There is a lovely rockpool not far from this campsite. Balie se gat is a heaven for people that loves rock formation and rock paintings.
