Itinerary description
Baldy Peak LA
Highest point in LA County. Beautiful hike, suitable for a loop:
- Starting point: Mankers campground. Requires a pass for parking, you can get it at the station on the way up.
The loop is formed by the devil´s backbone trail (steeper and with more dangerous cliffs next to the trail) and the ski hut trail. You can do it either way.
Be prepared for windy and cold conditions, even during warmer months.
This is an easy/moderate hike If you are used to the sport.
No technical climbs. Watch for the crowds and big groups during summer, specially on the backbone trail.
