Itinerary description
This is a difficult hike due to distance and elevation gain. There is some nice scenery along the way, most on the way up. We took the route counter-clockwise and there were some surprises. There is an uphill climb about 1.2 miles from the highpoint that surprised us. Also, we were a little surprised at the climb down to Johnson Lake. Be sure to take enough water or be prepared to filter.
