Itinerary description

A hike full of adventures. Surprisingly many people for the first week of Ramadan and we had three people in our group who were fasting. We had two dogs, one of them was a pet of one of the hikers and another one was a sweet stray dog who unfortunately was attacked by a guard dog and bitten badly. It was limping all the way through and falling asleep, we were all worried about it but it made it to the end in Rumeli Kavagi. Something we learned is that we have to guard the feral dogs in our group although the way the guard dog acted surprised all of us - it ran towards us and went straight for the bite without any hesitation.

For the rest it was kind of a typical Beykoz-ish Nick’s hike: a lot of beelines, streams crossing, very few trails, stream bed walls, we got stuck a in a jungle far longer than we planned to, a lot of fences crossing which many people understandably don’t like and we finished in the darkness with a little use of headlights. A typical unfortunate ending - most of us regulars finished first in the village and sat on a bus which left shortly leaving the newcomers alone waiting for the next bus. FeelsBadMan

Personally, I enjoyed the hike but would love to have more trails. Sometimes it’s good to just walk. It was my second hike with hokas and my god what a joy of trail runners they are.
