Çörlenasar Kalesi Bağarcık Köyü'nün hemen güneyinde, güneyde Amyzon’dan Euromos ve Iasos’a, batıda Latmos Herakleiası'na geçişleri kontrol eden bir noktada yer almaktadır. Latmos bölgesinde uzun yıllar yüzey araştırmalarında çalışmış olan arkeolog Anneliese Peschlow, Çörlenasar Kalesi'ni Bizans döneminde tarihlemiştir. Çörlenasar Kalesi fazla yüksek olmayan ancak oldukça büyük kayalık bir tepenin üzerinde bulunmaktadır. Sur duvarları moloz taşlar ile örülmüştür. Giriş kapısı güneye bakmakta olup kenar kısımları tahrip olmuştur. Bölgede Latmos Herakleiası antik kentini korumaya yönelik bir çok Helenistik döneme tarihlenen uç kalesi bulunmaktadır. Çörlenasar Kalesi de günümüzde hala kullanılmakta olan ve muhtemelen antik dönemde de kullanılmış olan Milas yoluna bağlantıyı sağlayan yolun hemen kenarında konumlanmıştır. Bu durum, bu yolun öneminin Bizans döneminde artmış olduğunu ya da iç bölgelere yapılması muhtemel saldırılara erken müdahale edebilmek için bölgede yeni bir uç kale yapımına ihtiyaç duyulduğunu göstermektedir. / The Çörlenasar Castle which was dated back to the the Byzantine period by archaeologist Anneliese Peschlow who has worked on surface surveys in the Latmos region for many years, is located just south of Bağarcık Village, at a point where it controls the passage from Amyzon to Euromos and Iasos in the south, and Herakleia by Latmos in the west. It is on a not very high but massive rocky outcrop. The castle has got dry rubble masonry fortification walls. The jambs of the south-facing entrance gate have been destroyed. There are many frontier fortresses in the region, which were dated back to the Hellenistic period, that were built to protect the ancient city of Herakleia by Latmos. The Çörlenasar Castle is located right next to the road that connects to the Milas road, which is still in use today and was probably used in ancient times. This shows that the importance of this road increased during the Byzantine period or that a frontier fortress was needed in the region in order to intervene early against possible attacks to the hinterlands.
