Itinerary description
We park the car in one of the big parkings of Sportgastein. The access to the road costs 5 €/person.
The excursion starts in a narrow uphill path, always upwards upto the Bockhartseehütte, using natural steps made by stones and roots during aprox 2 kms. The path is easy without any technical difficulty, although you need to be fit enough.
Just by the hütte is the big Unterer Bockhartsee. Now the route borders the leak and then it goes on along a narrow but flat path by a stream for another 2 kms up to the Oberer Bockhartsee.
Here we come back following the same path, although you can also continue to reach the summit Bockhartsch (2.226 m), which you can see from the lake.
