Itinerary description
I've previously completed this trek, albeit through a different route on our return journey, which took us through Lalazar.
The trek commences at Ayubia Bazaar, where you can conveniently park your vehicle. Begin your journey near the parking area by heading down approximately 100 meters, where you'll encounter the entrance to the historic Pipeline Trek, constructed by the British Indian Army. This trek spans approximately 5 kilometers and concludes at Donga Gali Bazaar/main road. Upon reaching Donga Gali, I recommend boarding a Suzuki van, which will transport you to the starting point of the Mushkpuri trail. This allows you to avoid walking on the concrete road, which stretches for 3-4 kilometers.
Upon arriving at the Mushkpuri trailhead, you'll encounter two intersections. Both routes lead to Mushkpuri, but the left one passes through Lalazar before reaching Mushkpuri. On our journey, we opted for the right-hand path, which is shorter but steeper. This choice can save you time but requires more effort due to its demanding terrain.
Upon completing the trek, you'll arrive at Mushkpuri Meadows, a verdant expanse perched atop the hill. This picturesque meadow provides captivating vistas of the surrounding valley.
The trek is safe and many people come with their families. You don't know any special equipment or skills to do this trek.
