Itinerary description
A nice mix of walks with views, through forest and fields. Nevertheless, you also walk on asphalt roads, including more than 1 km on N803. At moments, surface was wet. You go downhill and then uphill four times altohether.
You have nice views around 1 km after Awenne (forested valley of l'Hinson), on fields around Sartay, from Mirwart, and then again around Sartay, including on the church of Awenne seen from a distance.
Waypoints
Sacré Cœur
We have turned right into the first yellow rectangle marked path (not the second path, which descends into the valley).
The pond
Turn left on the asphalt road, and then after a hundred metres again left (direction Saint-Hubert, N803). You will continue on national road (N803) for more than one km. You will be passing through this point on your way back: the pond will be on your left and you will continue uphill towards Awenne.
Turn sharply right into another asphalt road (towards Mirwart)
This part of the trail is supposed to be marked with blue cross, but at the time of walking there were no markings
A chapel
After the chapel you turn right and follow the red losange. You will be passing next to the chapel again on your way back: also turn right, but then continue following the blue cross marking (which at the time of walking was visible only on parts of the trail).
Au Cheval Dos
Turn sharply left and go downhill. The path is very muddy, you will walk in a small stream
Go uphill
This is the end of around one km when you walk along La Lomme. On the second picture you see the view you will have in a moment behind your back.
A hunters' tower with a view
Soon you reach the point where you started to follow the red losange: you close the loop of the red losange marked trail.
