Itinerary description
Stepping Stones Game + Crossfit + Mesmerising views of the canyon = Avakas Gorge Nature Trail
This route is one of the most popular ones for good reason. The stunning panoramic views at the start of the route, the variety of flowering plants at the start of Avakas Gorge, the mesmerising tunnel in the river bed with hanging stone and the steep cliffs make it one of the most interesting and visited gorges in Cyprus. And the frequent riverbed crossings turn the route into the Stepping Stones Game and allow you to do it again and again. I will go throught this route again in the future.
If you want to do this route in its entirety, it requires good physical shape and suitable outfit, as you have to constantly climb big boulders, jump between stones and scramble up the difficult slopes.
This route can be started from different places. You can go by a car to the start of the route. Alternatively take bus 615 from Paphos, change to bus 616 at Coral Bay to go to the Agios Georgios Church, then walk a few kilometres to the start of the route.

The route allows you to enjoy different types of landscape: the sea, mountains, gorge, waterfalls and mountain streams. we passed it slowly in 4 hours, sometimes it was difficult, especially climbing the stones, but I had a wonderful time.
