Itinerary description
Trail follows an old logging road that is somewhat grown in. Saw 20 chickadees, 2 dark eyed juncos, 2 pine siskins, 3 Blue Jays. All of the birds were sited within 15 minutes from Rt 302. more than half along the train tracks and power-line cut. Two moose crossed my path about 200 feet ahead. The trail is easy to follow, easy hiking, however a lot of little streams cross (headed west to Black Brook.) The side trail is another old logging road, that heads west and crosses Black Brook at a substantial bridge that was in great shape. The side tail is thickly grown in with young spruce.
