Itinerary description
This hike starts at Overlook Park and takes Pioneer Express Trail to the Western States Trail to avoid the very steep Overlook Park Trail. At the Robie Point Fire Break Trail, take a right to Dale Drive, follow Dale Drive down to the North Fork to the American River. Just past the pump house take take the unmaintained trail upstream along the river to the Tamaroo Bar Trail back to the Robie Point Fire Break Trail and retrace your steps back to the top.
Check out the "More Maps" option on Wikiloc map options and select "Open Street Maps". If a trail you hiked is not on "Open Street Maps", I can teach you how to add it.
If you use Garmin's BaseCamp software, you can get a free routable version of "Open Street Map" to plan your hike and load the track onto your Garmin GPS. If you don't use a Garmin GPS, you can still use BaseCamp and export track as a GPX file and load it onto other brands of GPS's or apps on your smart phone.
