Itinerary description

In Pointed Rocks ranch (also called Knickerbocker Ranch or Olmstead trail area.) This is just one of many ways to hike in the knickerbocker(pointed rocks) ranch or olmstead area of Auburn state rec. This trail will mostly get you off of the Olmstead loop except for part of this trail . Thus you will mostly see horses and hikers and fewer bicycles. Since it goes by 2 of the 3 major ponds in this area, you may see a few ducks. There are other paths that will take you near these ponds, but this loop avoids some of the deeper winter stream crossings.
