Itinerary description
In Pointed Rocks ranch (also called Knickerbocker Ranch or Olmstead trail area.) This is a small section of trail that starts at a trail junction on the Olmstead loop and ends on the paved dam construction road that eventually takes you to the river. Please beware that the river bed is no longer dry. The diversion tunnel is closed. Therefore, you can no longer go to Auburn on this trail(inspite of the name).
Please note: This is not a stand alone trail. There is no trailhead a the start mark. Parking is behind the Cool fire station. Use the olmstead loop or the dam construction road to get to this spot. Also after join the dam construction road ( at the end of this mapping) there is still another couple of miles down to the water.
