Itinerary description
Confluence area- Park at the end of Russel Road in the stagecoach trailhead parking. Walk or ride your bike down the paved road to the end of canyon drive. This trail also has access to manzanita trail. The trail goes through the Auburn State Recreation Area compound. Stop by the office and buy a map or say hello to the rangers.
This is a multi-use trail for hikers, joggers, and horses. mountain bikes are allowed on Canyon drive and gate 132 at the end of Canyon Drive. However, no bikes are allowed from Gate 136 to Western States Trail

Gate 136 is on hwy 49 across the street from the Auburn State Recreation Area Headquarters. Horses and hikers are allowed between Gate 136 and the Western States trail. No bikes are allowed.
