Dear all, it was a very good experience hiking to Toubkal with Essouhaine and reaching the summit of Toubkal . The organization was running via whatsapp messenger which made the travelling style easy. Our guide had a good experience, organized the equipment (crampons, second shoes for me because my soles were too thin for the cold environment, sleeping bags) and made lunch for us. The hike itself is long (8 hrs second day)but not too difficult. We had an amazing sun rise in the morning. Good to bring some eye covers and some ear plugs for sleeping in the refugee. Per room you have around 16 people. We had really good weather conditions meaning no rain and wind. Temperature (when going up to the peak) stayed around 0 to 5 degrees. Transport organized from and to Marrakesh worked out perfectly. Have a safe trip hiking in the mountains of Toubkal.

At Morocco Toubkal Adventure we know Morocco, the mountains, the desert and the Berber people like our own family, because it is our own family. It’s our pleasure to make you love the country and come back.

We are proud to be your partner in responsible tourism. We work directly with the local people and pay them a decent salary directly after the work. We ask our travellers to leave nothing but their footprints and take nothing but pictures and nice memories. With respect to the mountains, nature and cultural differences.

This expedition is a privately organised trek and is fully booked.

All our expeditions are led by qualified Mountain Leaders, who have extensive experience of climbing and trekking above this altitude, in France, Italy, Switzerland, North America, Morocco and most recently the Indian Himalayas.

Jebel Toubkal has an altitude of 4167 metres (13671 feet) and is situated in Morocco. It is the highest peak in the Atlas Mountains and the highest in North Africa.

Day 1 – Fly to Marrakech, onward transport to overnight accommodation near to the start of the trek.
Day 2 – Trek for approximately 5 to 6 hours to a mountain hut, where will stay the night.
Day 3 – Summit attempt and return to the mountain hut.
Day 4 – Walk off the mountain to collect onward transport to Marrakech. Sight- seeing
Day 5 – Potential time for sight-seeing and return flight to the UK

    What we will provide -
Experienced International Mountain Leaders; first aid capability; all transport in Morocco; 2 nights accommodation in a riad; 2 nights accommodation in a mountain hut; all main meals whilst in the accommodation.

What you will need to provide -
Return UK flights; personal equipment - If you are a hill walker I'm sure you will have all the equipment needed (We do have a certain amount of spare equipment) - A detailed equipment list will be provided; any adhoc expenses.
Insurance - your normal travel insurance should provide all the cover necessary.

We would be going high in a relatively short time frame. Because of the altitude, there will be an amount of effort needed on summit day. Having said that, this is not an expedition where you need to be super fit. This mountain is most certainly achievable by hill walkers.
Sense of adventure - this is North Africa, remember. We won't be staying in a 5 star hotel, but using comfortable local accommodation.

The cost of the expedition is £545.00 plus flights (in the region of £120 - £200).

If you are genuinely interested and would like more information please feel free to contact us, we will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
