Itinerary description
The best trip in Áskja region started at Dreki campsite. Following the yellow sticks you climb up to Áskja caldera ridge. From this part is nice view to Herdubreid and you can see a lot of amazing rocky formations. From the ridge you can see Oskjuvatn lake, and you have 2 km to Viti lake, which have around 25C and is a nice place for take a breake and swim. The final part is following mountain road, with nice views to lavafields.
