Arroyo de la Realenga, La Cala de Mijas
This is a short pleasant (sort of circular walk) on the outskirts of La Cala de Mijas.
The first half of the walk is on a fairly quiet country lane with a bit of an uphill climb around 65 metres.
The walk passes two famous trees in the area, a carob tree – Algarrobo del Arroyo la Realenga and a pine tree – Pino Pinonero.
When you get to the intersection the walk goes down to the Realenga stream (unfortunately dry at the moment), which meanders through a wooded eucalyptus area (Camino Sorroche), and which is very popular with a riding school nearby.
There are lots of birds in this area, so it’s great for bird spotters.
The walk is also ideal for dogs.
There is 50% shade on this walk.
